I am making these as I write, the cream is delicious. I bought your beautiful book too No mean feat, I had to involve Pauline, from, the publishing house and a Dutch brother in law to have it sent to Holland for guaranteed safety and delivery. It's simply beautiful, the photos are evocative and stunning.
This made me smile so much! I hope you're enjoying making them, and I'm so happy to hear you love the cream already. 😊 And thank you from the bottom of my heart for going to such extraordinary lengths to get my book! I'm so touched that you're enjoying it and that the photos spoke to you. I hope the recipes bring you many happy moments in your kitchen!!
I was so excited to see this post Zaira. Each morning on our two visits to Venice, we would walk just down the road to a little cafe by the Ponte delle Guglie. They served the most exquisite cappuccino and these little rice tarts. If I could choose just one breakfast for the rest of my life, that would be the one. Now I can make these at home. I can't wait to begin practicing, thank you so much for sharing this recipe! ~Rae
Wow, I had no idea you could find them in Venice too! I think that's because I've always associated them with Tuscany, so I've never even noticed them here. It makes me so happy to hear that you discovered, tried and loved them! And thanks to you, I'll definitely keep that Bar al Ponte delle Guglie in mind the next time I'm in Venice!!
Zaira, if you have a chance to get there, I can't find a name, but I it is just a few storefronts from the bridge. Here are the coordinates, * 45° 26’ 37.14” N
* 12° 19’ 33.372” Would love to know if you have the chance to check it out. Only open in the mornings I think. If you do want to go there sometime let me know how I can send you a screenshot of the front of it from Google Earth. It is definitely facing the Rio Terà S. Leonardo and I think the address is 1301.
